Bio:
Cassidy A. Tawse-Garcia (she/they) is a PhD Candidate at the University of New Mexico in the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies. She is a social scientist studying the human dimensions of climate-induced disasters like wildfire. In particular, she is interested in how land-based communities respond to wildfire and related disasters of flooding and groundwater contamination. She holds a Masters in Environmental Management (MEM) from Western Colorado University, and lives in Albuquerque, NM with her partner, Pickle the Dog, three cats, 10 chickens, hive of bees, and more toads than she can count. When not thinking about communities impacted by fire, she bakes bread.
