Bio:

Matt Schmidt is a second-year master’s student at Colorado State University with a focus in Fire Ecology. He studies the impacts of high-severity fire and climate change on regeneration dynamics in pinyon-juniper woodlands and ponderosa pine forests. In Matt’s continuing career he hopes to continue to work towards climate adaptation and understanding disturbance impacts in ecosystems. Prior to graduate school, he completed his undergraduate degree in Ecosystem Science and Sustainability at CSU and spent two summers as an alpine field technician at the Niwot Ridge LTER in Colorado.
