Bio:

Rui Zhang is an environmental geographer specializing in the dynamics and complexities of coupled human and natural systems. Her research leverages a variety of computational tools and techniques to explore the interactions between human activities, socioeconomic changes, and environmental processes, with the goal of informing policies that address environmental challenges and promote sustainable development. Rui joined the Transformation Network as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at The University of New Mexico in December 2024. Prior to that, she earned her PhD in Geography, with a doctoral dual major in Environmental Science and Policy, from Michigan State University.
