Tanvir Ahmed is a PhD student in Environmental and Natural Resource Sciences at Washington State University. His research is focused on evaluating the effectiveness of water conservation in agricultural and municipal sectors, with a focus on analyzing the fate of conserved water through understanding complex social-ecological interactions in the Walla Walla River Basin and trans-boundary water governance. His goal is to build a career in academia by producing rigorous, policy-relevant research that supports sustainable and equitable water management. He has worked with multiple research organizations and in development sectors, bringing practical experience to his academic work. Outside of research, he enjoys reading books, cycling and traveling.
